About the Trilogy

The Guardians Trilogy begins in Cnoc Ard, where the familiar rhythms of village life give way to ravens, visions, old stories, and the first signs of a threat rising between realms.

Across the trilogy, Saoirse’s path carries her from mortal Ériu towards Tír na nÓg, the Land of Youth, where beauty, memory, prophecy, and danger follow older laws. Guided by An Mhórríoghain, Niamh the Seer, Cían, and Fionn, she must uncover the truth of the Guardians and the forgotten covenant that once protected the realms.

Trilogy Summaries

Book One

The Whispers of the Mórrígan

In the village of Cnoc Ard, Saoirse Ní MacGabhann lives among forge smoke, hearth stories, and the quiet certainties of family life. But when a raven appears and old tales begin to stir, she discovers that the world she knows is only one part of a far older truth.

As visions deepen and hidden powers move closer, Saoirse is drawn towards Tír na nÓg and the first revelation of the Guardians.

Book Two

The Legend of Danu

Saoirse, Cían and Fionn continue their journey as forgotten histories of the Guardians gradually emerge and the hidden realms reveal themselves more fully. Guided by the Mórrígan in raven form and by Niamh’s increasingly significant dreams and visions, they begin to uncover traditions reaching back to the earliest days of the Tuatha Dé Danann.

As the legend of Danu and the legacy of Nuada Airgetlám surface through fragments of memory, old stories and forgotten places, an unseen ancient presence continues to disturb the harmony between the realms. The travellers must learn what has been forgotten without assuming that every old story contains the whole truth.

Book Three

The Return of the Guardians

With the realms threatened and the covenant nearly lost, the Guardians must rise again. Saoirse’s journey reaches its fulfilment as love, sacrifice, prophecy, and ancient power converge.

The final struggle will determine whether Ériu and Tír na nÓg remain divided by fear or bound once more by those willing to stand between darkness and the living realms.
